What’s Going On In Spring Sports?
Woodgrove spring sports are off with a bang. Every season has its highs and lows, laughs and tears. Here are some Woodgrove athletes to tell you how their season is going.
The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team had a big win over Freedom High School in their first game of the season. Since then, they have pulled more victories, and had a few losses, including a defeat against Light Ridge High School. According to Junior Teagen Lowrey, “After our loss, we were able to learn and grow to get better.”
The Varsity Softball team has a winning record so far! The players have great hopes for the rest of their season and the playoffs. They even pulled out a redemption win against Tuscarora. Sophomore Addie McCullers says, “ Our team is looking really good this season, we have great pitching and hitting.” On a somber note, the Wolverines starting catcher and Senior Wynn Drenning, recently broke her thumb in the game versus Washington High School. Drenning has no doubt that her team will be just fine. “I have full confidence in Cayden [Freshman backup catcher]. She is extremely talented and I fully trust her and believe all the outcomes of our games will be the same with her in the lineup.”
Athletic supporters can cheer on the Wolverines in spring sports action every week. Ticket and game information can be found on the Woodgrove athletic website.
