Every August, a fresh class of ninth graders enters Woodgrove’s doors and is catapulted into their high school careers. However, the transition from eighth grade to the wider world of high school leaves many freshmen confused and without guidance. To help alleviate this uncertainty, the Woodgrove Outlander polled the Freshman Class of 2027 for advice topics. Then, we interviewed current seniors for their help.

“It’s never as scary as you think,” claimed current Student Council Vice President Lily McBride. “If you find the clubs that you’re [interested] in and you find your friends, then it’s going to be fine,” assured McBride.

Another senior, Prescott Noll, explained that his greatest life lesson in high school was, “Go with the flow, you have to be very flexible.” Noll is a committed member of the Varsity Track and Cross Country teams.

Both McBride and Noll noted the importance of developing time management when entering high school. Noll states, “Once you get [time management], it makes it super easy.”

While seniors prepare for life after high school, their guidance can provide stability for freshmen at the beginning of their journey. In time, the Class of 2027 will be able to spread their wisdom to future freshman classes, but for now, they will be able to grow with the help of the Class of 2024.
