The First Half of The Woodgrove Wolverine Football Season
As the seventh week of Varsity Wolverine football comes to an end, let’s recap on the first half of the season. Through the first seven weeks of football, the Wolverines have accumulated a record of five wins; John Champe, Heritage, Broad Run, Riverside, and Potomac Falls; and two losses Forest Park and Briar Woods.
Woodgrove Football has had some ups and downs throughout the first seven weeks but seem to be figuring things out and getting better as every week passes. “We are really focusing on working out little mistakes and are very excited to press forward through the last three games of the regular season,” says Senior football captain Jaden Boring.
As of now, the Wolverines are ranked fifth out of eight in the playoff rankings for our district. Our next opponent is the first ranked team in the district, the Stone Bridge Bulldogs. It should be a great game with tons of action on the ground and through the air.
Woodgrove’s final three games consists of Stone Bridge, Independence, and our crosstown rival, Loudoun Valley. It should end up being a great final stretch of the season, full of excitement. The football team loves all their fans so don’t forget to come out and support the Wolverines on Fridays.
