What is Environmental Science? It is the study of geology, ecology, meteorology, and biology combined, with a focus on environmental problems and the solutions to them. Scientists study this branch of science to keep the environment, species of animals, and plants safe.

Woodgrove High School has an Environmental Club. The club members are enthusiasts of keeping the environment safe.Vice President of Woodgrove’s Environmental Club, Devin Cawthorne suggests, “Make sure that you are recycling and don’t try to put your trash in the recycling bins. Overall, being more conscientious.”

Environmental Science teacher, Scott Fortney, emphasizes the importance of being aware of your waste. “Recycle when you can, conserve energy whenever possible because even now approximately 80% of energy used in the United States comes from fossil fuels, and all that goes along with that.”

Talk to your guidance counselor about your science class options or join Woodgrove’s Environmental Club if you are interested in learning how to keep the Earth healthy, sustainable, resilient, clean, and safe.
