With her debut single ‘Tennessee’ becoming a local hit after her audition on American Idol, Woodgrove Junior Lillian Hackett has had a very successful and busy couple of months. She got her friends and family together to have a watch party for her American Idol audition at a local Lovettsville restaurant establishment, 1836 Kitchen and Taproom. Within one month of the release of ‘Tennessee,’ Hackett’s single had already reached over 30,000 streams. She has gained quite a bit of traction on social media, with her music account on Instagram having more than 11.5k followers.

Hackett’s career has continued to flourish, and she has been kept extremely busy apart from American Idol. One extremely memorable and monumental moment of her music career took place on March 30th, 2024 when Hackett performed at the well-renowned 9:30 Club venue during a sold out show. The way this incredible moment came about began this past winter. Hackett filmed a video of her singing a cover of the song ‘Blood Moon’ by Josiah and the Bonnevilles. “It blew up a little bit, and he saw it and reposted it. He ended up talking to me about it and inviting me to sing it with him at his sold out show at the 9:30 Club in March,” described Lillian. “So many legends have played on that stage, so it was so cool to get to be up there where they have all been.”

Hackett also opened for the Low Water Bridge Band at Tally Ho Theater on April 6th, 2024. She brought a musician friend, Evan Bell, who accompanied her on bass. “It was special to have a full set with a bass player and have so many friends there supporting me. Playing on a big stage with an awesome sound system helped really open me up to the idea of pursuing this long term.” Hackett went on to explain that above all else, the main thing she took away from her Tally Ho experience was simply that it was a ton of fun. A moment from the night that stood out to her was when she played her song ‘Tennessee’ and everyone in the audience knew the words by heart and were singing along.

Hackett formally met another local musician and peer, Sela Campbell, who also went on this season of American Idol. The two young singer-songwriters played a show at the Bright Box in Winchester together on April 13th, 2024.

Hackett has more moments in the spotlight that friends, family, and fans can look forward to seeing. In May and September 2024, Hackett will be performing at various music festivals along with other talented artists and bands.

Lillian Hackett plans to continue dropping more original music in the future on top of staying busy with live performances, so get excited and stay tuned!
