Cozy Fireplace Reading
As the weather gets colder and everyone huddles inside the house, it makes it the perfect time to curl under a cozy blanket and read a good book.
The website Goodreads has many suggestions for the winter season, listing over 100 books. The number one book is Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. The number two is Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, which was turned into a show by Netflix last year.
Sophomore Rory Fricano suggested The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin for a fantastic winter read.”It’s got a lot of different parts and facets that I think are quite intriguing to multiple groups of people. Everyone can find something to appreciate.”
Anne Bogel’s blog The Modern Mrs.Darcy suggests going back to childhood classics for the upcoming winter season by reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe: The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S.Lewis, a timeless classic. Bogel also suggests reading Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie, which can still be enjoyed even if you have seen the movie because the book has a different ending.
Make sure you cozy up by the fire with hot cocoa and enjoy a good book as the winter weather settles in.
