Giving Back: Woodgrove for Women Holiday Sale
On December 14th, 15th, and 16th, the Woodgrove for Women Club is hosting a table everyday during lunch to celebrate different women owned businesses in the area.
Co-executive director of Woodgrove for Women, Lilly McBride, explains how this is a three day showcase for women in business. The merchants being featured are Roots & Wax, a candle company owned by Woodgrove Junior Mimi Forrester, crafts made by the Crochet Club, and photography by Mrs. Harar. Other items being sold are baked goods and custom shirts and sweatshirts.
While some of the proceeds will be going to the businesses themselves, a percentage of the profits will be going to different organizations that help local women in need: charities such as Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (LAWS), Women Giving Back, and Mobile Hope. “Especially in the winter, they need more support,” stated McBride.
Ultimately, McBride feels that this will be a good opportunity for Woodgrove students and staff to purchase gifts for the holidays while giving back to the community.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Woodgrove High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment, attend conferences, and cover our annual printing and website hosting costs.
