To get to one thousand points in high school basketball is truly an amazing accomplishment. That is exactly what Sadie Shores, Woodgrove Womens Varsity Basketball player, did this season. The journey to one thousand points is something that is not easily accomplished in the basketball world.

It was very difficult, because as a player I had to distinguish what was best for the team and the need to score,” Shores stated.

With every grinding journey to a big milestone like this, there is always a beginning. Those beginnings are what make us love something. “I got into basketball after watching my sister play in third grade. And I thought, ‘I want to do that.’,” Shores explained.

Basketball has been her passion for a long time and achieving this milestone is a huge step for her basketball career. Milestones are what push people to achieve their biggest goals in life. However, for Sadie, having one milestone is just not enough.

The next goal is to be better than the day before. With that mindset I am able to achieve anything I set my mind to,” explained Shores on her mindset for her future.

Woodgrove Womens Varsity Basketball team is on a roll this year and Sadie Shores is still going strong by adding onto her one thousand points every game with the help of her teammates.
